Sounds like a rush to judgement as all the facts are not out, and the FBI is coducting their investigation. On face it appears that the youg man was killed by the police officer and it was not warranted. The officer should be tried in court and probably will. Breaking into stores and stealing sneakers and TV's to protest makes the situation all the worse. It appears that many outsiders have come to this town to create havoc and nothing else. The in your face media adds fuel to the fire as the place is crawling with satelite news vans and generators hoping to get some riot footage,
I use Uber all the time. I was first attracted to the concept because of my frustration with fixed pricing and the high price of taxi cabs. If I were marketing Uber, I would spend my energy on promoting its safety record and a "David vs. Goliath" image that finally provides an alternative to expensive town cars, shared ride vans and taxisUber is a real winner. They should embrace all transportation systems as viable and then quietly educate the consumer on the benefits of their car for hire system. It is clearly superior.
And those families are the ones that are reproducing, unfortunately. Those of us with other options have realized that there's more to life than picking up crushed Cheerios and watching Sesame Street -- the more educated women are eschewing the mommy thing in favor of other interesting life pursuits. So the underclass is going to keep growing itself exponentially and soon outnumber the rest of us -- then what? Too bad our ignorant and cowardly politicians can't get behind some practical initiatives like mobile birth control and abortion vans free to all U.S. citizens, and public education that stresses the costs (financial, opportunity, societal, environmental) of having children and the acceptability of alternative choices, starting in about first grade.
