Green Laser Prostate Treatment

Governors Cuomo and Christie should each receive a copy of Green Eggs and Ham even as they staunchly defend their ham-handed, crude, ill advised, unscientifically supported quarantine of Kacie Hickox, and their intentions for exactly the same shameful treatment of all other courageous, heroic medical volunteers returning from the ebola afflicted regions. Christie and Cuomo are the Ted Cruzes of Ebola.

The decision by President Obama to normalize relations with Cuba is appropriate and in the best interests of the United States. Of course the Republican Party is against it - if President Obama was for green grass, they would be against it.

Sen. Rubio's comments only prove that he is a partisan warrior wedded to failed, outdated and mistaken Cold War policies that ultimately did more to damage this country than Cuba. But punishing Cuba, or either of the Castros, is NOT in the United States' long term interest, even though it feeds rabidly parochial, single-issue interests that helped elect Sen. Rubio.

President Obama, on the other hand, is wise to seize the opportunity for constructive change and set the U.S. on a new course with Cuba that is infinitely more likely to result in greater security, cooperation, and constructive commerce.

Moreover, this difference of opinion between Republicans and Democrats puts in sharp focus the approach of each party to foreign policy, enabling us to see in greater detail the relative strengths and successes (or failures) of each party's policies: Republicans implement foreign policy at the point of a gun (or laser guided bomb, if you prefer) - and have failed completely, in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. etc. The Democrats' approach - a spare approach to military action and a readiness to work cooperatively with nations for the long term - infinitely more likely to succeed. And a lot less costly.

My sister grew up with ADD back in they days before there was any diagnosis or treatment, and it ruined her life. Maybe there is an over-diagnosis nowadays, but the disorder is real and in many people it can ruin lives. You're nothing in this country without an education and if you can't sit still long enough to get one, you are economically doomed.

That being said, I think we need to research treatments that are not pills. For example, we should find more ways to get kids outdoor exercise in green places. According to science, that helps people focus a lot.

It's men who are conditioned to bear pain and not complain; most women I know are taught to think about others and have to repeatedly pressure the men in their lives to see the doctor for pain.

The government should only fund studies where the subjects reflect the general population (female, black, Hispanic, Asian) except where not justified (e.g., male only for prostate problems, female only for ovary problems).

Thanks for another beautifully and poignantly crafted piece of writing. I will keep the titles you noted for current and future use as I confront my own recent diagnosis of prostate cancer.

I am so pleased you have a grandchild in whose life you can savor and in whom you can find hope and meaning in the weeks and months to come. My wife and I have been treasuring every moment of grandparenthood for over 5 years now. It offers one a multitude of heartwarming moments with the child and the child's parents as well.

Very best wishes to you, your husband, and your loved ones....

Like many adults with ADD I diagnosed myself and only later had that conclusion confirmed by a professional. I tried Adderall which raised my blood pressure and Straterra that wreaked havoc on my prostate. I soon concluded that drugs were not the answer and that I just needed to be more understanding of those who lack ability to appreciate everything that is going on around them. In short, I learned that ADD was a gift, not a disorder. These boys do not need to be medicated; they need to be given the space to be boys.
