Please let us not lose sight here. The lawsuit's cost will be measured in the Millions, mere peanuts. The selective breaks handed out to the 0.1% cost us in the Billions. The difference is a factor of a thousand.
Second, the true cost of the GOP's actions is in the work not done. Why no economist has not measured the net cost to the GDP, I do not know. The recent improvement in the economy has occurred despite their actions, and in no way because of them.
Much as I loathe the GOP's move, the cause of sanity is not helped by anodyne sound-good statements.
And she's out in the open in her assertions that she wants Obama impeached. What's a Democrat not to love?
Since all they have done is 'obstruct' everything presented by POTUS or democrats, I want to sue the republicans for not doing their jobs for 5.5 years [+ or - a few days]. They've collected their salaries and benefits for doing none of the people's business? Now they want to waste more of our time and funds to avoid the people's work so that we will be entertained at our own expense and hopefully be deterred by their theatrics rather than insist they accomplish our work.
They know what they do. They are doing what the republican voter wants, spend, spend, spend, cut taxes, bankrupt the country, getting all the things they want, without worrying about the voters. No Social Security, no Medicare, no Obamacare, no food stamps, no nothing. It's Hell to be Poor.
gdp is up by 4% this quarter
The Anti-Obamacare GOP is suing to implement Obamacare faster. How frustrating are national politics? I'm taking a break.
I agree with you. They should be paid for each and only for days that they work. Not just show op. They should get minimum wages for each hour and only each hour they work. The 6 months that they vacation or have a " recess"
they are NOT paid.
I am proud that the Dems. FINALLY are getting a little fire under their bellies.
Wow, I can't believe not one Republican member of the House of Representatives had the courage to stand alone for some sanity in their party. I guess by now I shouldn't be surprised. Sad.
The American electorate in less than 100 days will have the opportunity to make a decision about whether to continue these folks in their legislative offices or recognize the ungovernable mess that has become the United States government. Be sure you are properly registered, be sure to vote, and encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to do the same. All other hand wringing, appeals to "reason," or spurious excuses for the Republican Party count for nought.
Morons! They should be doing the work they were elected to do, not playing childish games. I cannot wait for the November election!
At least Sarah Palin had the good grace (I never thought I'd write that phrase!) to leave office when she decided that being a clown was more fun and lucrative than being a governor. Would that Boehner would follow her example.
Sooo ... are all the House Republicans going to sit day after day in court to testify how the President's actions harmed them, and thus they even have standing to sue? This would be as productive an outcome as anything else the GOP has done in the past six years. At least they would do no harm.
++ sigh ++ Bobby Jindal got it right ...
This is where the Democrats need to remind Americans of the cost of the Nation suffered when the Republicans shut down the government for 17 days. The cost of this most recent bit of theatre will not be so great, but the absence of real governance will continue to hinder progress and addressing real problems.
And the cowardly "moderate Republicans" voted right along with them. That justifies looking on this party as one entity, no more excuses.
Vote them out next November!
Alright people of Ohio, the ball is in your court: will you let this disgrace of a man return to office to continue as the House Speaker after the November election?
Second Democratic president in a row they have tried to delegitimize. Aren't the Republican filibuster and gerrymandering enough to thwart the will of the people?
Make no mistake. The only reason this stunt is being done is because President Obama is guilty in the eyes of the republicans of being President While Black.
And why not sue the President to further wreck his attempts at governing and to destroy his legacy?
After all, from Hobby Lobby all the way to small decisions, the GOP has found a friendly and activist judiciary itching to throw precedent away and enter the fray as an unvarnished, shrill and ideological political force --no matter than doing so destroys the laws themselves and with it the impartiality of our judiciary as foundation of our country.
when is this GOP/Boehner congress of Haters going to start doing something for the American tax payers money they pocket eat and steal each day - for 6 years they have done absolutely just = Hate. - pity them.
