Interstate Car Insurance

This article goes to the heart of the question, "What is an American corporation?" Apple -- or any other global corporation -- can legally play laws and regulations to its financial benefit, while the citizens provide blood and treasure for national defense, the transportation infrastructure, etc. (Nobody seems to pay for education anymore, so I don't even want to go _there_.) The final insult -- corporations bend the rules of interstate commerce to their favor while the right-wing snuffs universal health care on the ruse of limited authority over interstate commerce.

I really like this idea. Along with genuine coast-to-coast passenger lines and moving public transport into suburban areas, this could be part of a solution. Taking interstate trucking off of the interstate would immeasurably improve both safety and the condition of the roads themselves.

@michjas from Phoenix: Did you do any of the following in the last year? Drive on an Interstate highway? Ride in an airliner to or from anywhere? Buy health insurance with a pre-existing condition? Take shelter from a storm after hearing an emergency alert? Have to worry about toxic or spoiled stuff in your food, drugs or cosmetics? Were you kept safer because the Army kept enemies at bay? Did the National Guard help clean up and keep peace after a natural disaster? Did you visit Lake Powell National Park in your town? Did you enjoy electricity from the Hydroelectric station there? These are just the items I can think of off the top of my head. Please go out and vote now! It IS important!

In this part of the country additions to the intrastate and interstate railroads are needed. For example it is no longer possible to organize a 'cold train' to carry produce to Chicago. That means tens of thousands of extra truck loafs on the interstate with higher prices at the receiving end.

Whatever happened to non-disclose and non-solicit agreements? Employers realized that they were difficult if not impossible to enforce. And so if they cannot enforce those agreements they can prevent the person from working. It is totally ridiculous. I have brought the issue of non-completes up with my elected state and federal representatives. The NC US Senators and representatives claim it is a state issue with no federal oversight needed. But how can that be? Non-competes can be enforced between states. That in and of itself implies an affect on interstate commerce; in fact a restraint of interstate commerce. That is a federal matter.
